Puerto Viejo (Prospect Hts/Crown Hts.)?
A friend of mine raved about this Spanish/Dominican place, and I'm going to check it out soon. Just curious if any 'hounds have been there, and if you have any recommendations? TIA.
P.S. I will report afterward.
By the way, it's at 564 Grand Avenue (between Bergen and Dean).
I'm no expert on Dominican/Latino food, but I really enjoyed the place! Friendly service, very lively, nice atmosphere, if a bit too loud. They have empanadas, lots of seafood dishes (e.g., sopa de mariscos), roast pork and chicken, rice and beans, mofongo, etc. The food is not spicy, but you can get a delicious hot sauce on the side (seems to be made from yellow chili peppers).
Definitely worth a try!
