Family Dinner - ages 7-77. Better than a diner but no need for white table cloth?

princeofpork3 May 1, 2013 09:12 AM

Friday night looking to do a family dinner around 7PM. 2 kids who are well behaved 7 and 10. 3 folks over 60. Want to do something nicer than a diner but dont need to eat at an upscale place as the food qaulity will be lost on most of the participants. Would like to stay between 34th and 14th if possible.

How many people are in your party?

This Friday, as in 2 days from now?

Sarabeth's on Park Ave S seems pretty grandparent and kid friendly to me. OpenTable shows they can take 8 this Friday.

Agreed. Night are much better than weekend brunch there. The place is a mad house on the weekends.
We made a reservation at Tratorria Belvedere on 31st. Heard good things from a few friends.

I would suggest Penelope. The food is great, salads, mac and cheese, etc. Something for everyone kind of place and I think both the older and younger would enjoy the homey vibe.
