I loved to stop by here after a hard day of UFO Catchers and manga hunting. Hope they get back on their feet soon.

For those of us that don't read Japanese, how extensive was the damage? I'm really sad to see that as I really enjoyed eating there and look forward to returning.

Kanda Yabu is completely gone. Nothing now but a vacant lot with a fence around it. The day after the fire it did not look too bad; the grounds were intact and the main building looked OK save for a hole in the roof over the kitchen that had been knocked out for the fire department to let the smoke out. I imagine that eighty plus years plus the smoke damage made it impossible to save the building, although it can be rebuilt. The kaeshi, on the other hand, from what I have heard, can not.

Thank you for the update, although I almost wished that I hadn't asked. That is really heartbreaking.

This was about 4-5 months ago correct?
