Lox and nova, north of Boston?

garnetmemory Apr 29, 2013 10:23 AM

Can anyone make a recommendation for lox or nova along the Rt 3 corridor between Burlington and Nashua?

Trader Joe's usually has decent product at a decent price.

Do you have a Whole Foods in that corridor? Duck Trap and Spencer are both good and WF carries them. Costco also carries a surprisingly good Acme lox product (out of Brooklyn).

Costco carries the Blue Hill Bay brand of smoked salmon from Acme, and it is very good stuff. It's not "lox," which is salt-cured, but rather cold-smoked. The New York Times had a good article summarizing the varieties of salmon and lox: http://dinersjournal.blogs.nytimes.co...
