Bread-like scones?

There is a coffee show ,that I frequent, that serves scones that are very fluffy, like bread, but they have they crust of a scone. Does anyone have any ideas as to how to make scones a little bread like and fluffy? I want to make bacon, spinach, and feta scones.

      Have you called the coffee shop? Even if they are not made in house they can tell you where they get them and you could track sone the recipe from them, or see if they have a special name so you can google it.

      I recently made welsh cakes that were almost a cross between a scone and tea bread and/or thick yet fluffy pancakes. Not sure if that fits your need.

          Do you mean softer and fluffier inside, not so crumbly? Or more like bread than like cake? If you mean the kind that's fluffier, I've heard that kind of scone called a coffeehouse scone or an American scone. Haven't tried this recipe, but maybe it will give you the texture you're looking for:
