Gonads again? That takes some balls...

          1. re: bulavinaka

You wrote gonads, I read dangos.

Spheric, anyways. Permutation attributed to a spectacular bottle of 1996 Leflaive Chassagne Montrachet Les Vergers just killed over lunch. Oh well, as the saying goes, spiritus quidem promptus est caro autem infirma.

Wish we could make Leflaive dish of the month!

                Fishballs>>gonads>>dangos? Only on Chowhound...

I think your cellar would cause weakness of any sane one's flesh... or at least at their knees...

            2. re: RicRios

Well, since fishballs are made with fish MEAT. I don't see why they or gefilte fish can't be part of "meatballs". We never said what *kind* of meatballs...

              1. re: Porthos

As Dumas wrote: "Oh, noble Porthos! careful heaper-up of treasure". Thanks for your help!

Master, please take note, my vote goes to MEATBALLS.

                                        1. Wow, this is a tough choice. Tacos made with guefilte* fish meatballs? Shoot, have to really think about it. Got one more day to vote...

*Is there a reason--beyond RicRios's spelling in the nom thread--why we're using the Spanish(?) spelling of gefilte fish. Just wanted to make sure I'm not missing some variation on traditional gefilte fish out there.

                                            אױ גװאַלד (Oy gevalt)!
                                            My fault.
Should've spelled it the one and only correct way:

                                            1. re: RicRios

Hope my post didn't come off as trying to correct the spelling. I was genuinely curious if there was a difference between gefilte fish and guefilte fish as dishes, rather than as just the English and Spanish translations of the Hebrew word.

                                              1. re: PeterCC

I thought it was the German or Yiddish spelling but that would be gefu(umlaut)llte which would make it "gefuellte" for non umlaut keyboards.

The easy explanation is: damn autocorrect!

                                                1. re: Porthos

The Google results for gefuellte are mostly German but for guefilte are mostly Spanish.

                                                2. re: PeterCC

                                                  It's just Ric being Ric.

Leave the dude alone ... Wouldn't want him yelling at all of us in Yiddish.

But I'd also like to fish tacos to win, so I may hear more about your excursions to TPC as well as their monkfish liver tacos, and would uni count under fish ????

                                                    1. re: kevin

                                                      Good point(s) Kevin!

Ipse - perhaps we should call it Seafood Tacos?

                                                  2. battle down to the wire, meatballs vs fish tacos!

ok, meatballs will have to cover gelfite (sp ?) fish to for fuck's sake.

                                                                1. re: Capybara

                                                                      So sad.
