Places with variety of top-quality lox on Westside for taste testing

I have a some friends coming in town from the South, and they want me to do a classic bagels and lox brunch for them - they are very, very good friends, so I'd really like to splurge. Beforehand, I'd like to go to a few places on the Westside that have a variety of top-quality lox - for example, both Nova and gravlax - so I can buy a small quantity, and "taste test" before I decide what I want for the brunch. I believe that Barney Greengrass is one place I noticed when I looked at old posts - any other recommendations would be appreciated.

Again, I want to emphasize that quality here is more important than value, unless I can some how get both.

TIA in advance for any recommendations.

Brent's Deli, in my opinion is the best deli in the city. Located in Northridge they will deliver to you all the way from the Valley. I love their Super Fish Buffet For Two...Lox, Cod, Whitefish and Creamed Herring. Served with Cream Cheese, Potato Salad, Cucumber Salad, Coleslaw, 4 Bagels or Rolls, Tomatoes, Sliced Bermuda Onions, Freshly Squeezed Orange Juice for Two and Coffee refills for Two. Or on the weekends it's just a 30 minute drive from the Westside to Brent's & worth it.

Second Brent's - but on the weekend there will be a line.

If it's not too far out of your way I'd get some of both the nova and Scottish from Fish King http://www.fishkingseafood.com/index.... in Glendale and see what you think. Last time we were there the nova was $19.95 lb and the Scottish was $21.95 (IIRC).

You could do lox from Barney Greengrass vs the smoked salmon at Petrossian.

Try the whitefish from Barney Greengrass. My personal favorite bagel pairing.

Barney Greengrass is the right choice.

Santa Monica Seafood is another option. But it's hard to do better than Barney Greengrass. Also Petrossian has options.
