I saw an ad in EdibleHawaiianIslands for Leoda's Kitchen & Pie Shop - suppose to have sandwiches, salads, specials & homemade sweet & savory pies. Any reports?

  1. We stopped in a couple of times during our 2 month stay last year. We thought it was ok, nothing special and if you don't go early in the day, not much selection of pies later in the day. The ones we did try, coconut cream and apple, were on par with Sara Lee or Marie Callender frozen pies with double the pricing

thanks for the reply. Sounds like it's not worth a trip or the calories. I'll skip it if I ever go back to Maui.

    2. I ate there last week. Had an Ahi Tuna sandwhich which was honestly one of the best sandwhiches I've ever had. Great bread, good balance of flavors, seared sushi grade ahi...just really excellent. It was expensivish at $16.

Also took a banana bread loaf back home (to LA) and it was quite good.

Did not try the pies. The actual place itself is a roadside stop off on the way to Lahaina. They have a quaint little mini-mart as well as a fruit vendor who was doing fresh fruit juices. I liked the vibe of the area and was glad I went.
