My 25 year old daughter will be in Bogota with a friend for her 25th birthday. I'd like to arrange for a special dinner for her on her birthday. Can you suggest a really outstanding restaurant. Money isn't an issue. I just want it to be superb and memorable. Thank you!

I don't have a lot of experience in Bogota, but we did have a couple of excellent meals there. Probably my favourite meal was at 69 Oyster Bar - the food was wonderful and the service really friendly (the chef was the only one who spoke English and she really really took charge of us). We also had dinner at Leo Cocina y Cava - excellent choice and really innovative menu. We also enjoyed 80 Sillas in Usaquen, where we ordered mostly appetizers (really good apps).

Good luck! We loved our time in Bogota!

I haven't been to this place, but I'm watching Anthony Bourdain on Parts Unknown and he is eating in a place called Tabula in the Macarena district of Bogota. Food looks wonderful and it gets good reviews on Tripadvisor. I would definitely try it if I were there.

Is her (or your) preference something fancy/upscale or something down-to-earth with great "typical" local food? And is the birthday person a bogotana or a visitor?
