Osmow's Shawarma at Queen & John

justxpete Apr 25, 2013 10:58 AM

I stumbled on to this the other day - when they first opened in Streetsville, several years ago, I thought it the best shawarma that I'd had in the gta. I think they eventually got too busy, and the QC waned. It was still good, but no longer exceptionally good.

I'm curious if anyone has tried the new location at Queen and John (Just north, across from the pet store)?

I work near here and we call it "ooze" mow's cause the dude puts a ridiculous amount of sauce in the shawarma sandwich, it's disgusting. Been here once, just awful food. He smashes the chicken to smithereens on the grill, also the Greek salad and rice are equally revolting, pure slop at this place.

Amazingly absurd. I've never experienced anything like that. I doubt they'd be as successful as they are (five locations) if they were serving what you describe.

Wow surprised to hear they opened downtown.

My experience is very similar to yours.

Only had it twice, once was years ago and it was awesome. The second time was last year and it was lacklustre.

I'm happy to report that the one downtown is delicious. I will be making it a regular spot.. hopefully they don't get too busy though. It's in a pretty obscured location, so I hope they get enough traffic that they manage to stay open.

I ended up going today - I'd recommend it to everyone. Really quite good - my new go to place for Shawarma downtown. I've tried quite a few places, and I can't find decent Shawarma downtown.
