Cake Mix Too Sweet
I was in a discount grocery store last week and found box cake mix for 19 cents per box. I stocked up. I used the first box last night and it was WAY too sweet!! (I mean, "headache after only 2 bites" sweet!) No wonder it was on clearance.
Is there anything I can do to lessen the sweetness of the other mixes when I use them? I feel like just adding more flour isn't enough...am I wrong?
Use milk? If you add more flour you should take away a similar amount. I don't recall the proportion of sugar:flour:fat in those mixes but you look that up you can take that into consideration.
Maybe cocoa powder could help too, unless its already chocolate lol.
Try using them in other ways, such as the popular "cake mix dump cake" with tart fruit, instead of making a cake.
