Special Mother's Day Brunch

Bugsey34 Apr 24, 2013 09:31 AM

I am trying to come up with a special Mother's Day brunch or event for my Mom. I know it's not a great day to eat out and expect the best from restaurants - she's not very picky food-wise and not the Hound that I am. She'll probably say wherever we go is delicious.

I know Top of the Hub gets awful reviews here, I haven't been in many years - do you guys think it would be OK for a brunch for the view and stroll around the top of the Pru after?

Other options I thought of were Mistral, Parker's or a Spirit of Boston harbor cruise. What do you guys think of these options? What's the best "wow" experience for Hound's mom?

probably not special enough for what you are looking for, but others may find it helpful to know that Rendezvous in Central Square is open for brunch, uniquely, on Mother's Day. Oleana and Hungry Mother both were open for lunch on MD in the past but no longer. TW Food and Upstairs on the Square might work for some.

I'm taking my chowmom to rendezvous for mothers day. For the 6th year in a row. They always make her feel special.

I believe L'Espailer has a mother's day brunch each year. Would be nice to support them after they were closed for 10 days due to the bombing (and obviously the food is awesome).

Thanks everyone for your replies! I had seen those links and was looking for something more special occasion than what they offered. Hope everyone has a great Mother's Day!

More special occasion than L'Espailer?... French Laundry?

Open table has a page dedicated to Mom's day. It will help you narrow down availabilty. Of course not all places use open table but it can be a start....
