Are there any places where you can buy things like zaatar, sumac, Aleppo pepper, pomegranate molasses, lamejuns, fresh made taramasalata, kaymak, etc. in the Msp/StP area?

  1. Does Holy Land carry this stuff?

    1. Midtown Global Market

Penzeys has Aleppo pepper--or they did. It wouldn't surprise me if what has been going on in Syria affects supply. Also zaatar and sumac, IIRC. You could look at their website to verify.
United Noodle would have some of your list as well.

Good news and bad news re:Aleppo pepper. Good news? They source it from Turkey. Bad news: It's not really from Aleppo.

you are referring to Penzey's specifically or is this true of all aleppo pepper?

        1. Caspian Bistro has lahmajun, pom. molassas, sumac, zataar, etc. They sometimes even have kaimak. But not fresh taramasalata (they carry a jarred version) - go to a Greek restaurant for that.

          1. Thanks everyone. Will pass your suggestions on to a cousin who wanted to know.
