Considering going tomorrow for their fried liver cubes and sausage pizza. Anyone been lately?

    swank, on the lamb sdwch thread, their shish kabob sdwch was highly rec'd. p.s. keep in mind that Cutty's is right there too.

      Cutty's vs. Brookline Family Restaurant is kind of apples vs. oranges, especially if Swankalicious is looking at the pizza. Also worth keeping in mind is that Cutty's is only open for breakfast/lunch - they close at 3.

        I cannot speak to their pizza which i assume is more in the lamejun style but I can highly recommend their lamb in any form, the homemade bread and the shepherd's salad as well as their vegetables: they make a classic green-bean in tomato and wonderful giant white beans.

        We went maybe 2 months ago, and it seemed like the food overall went down a notch. The boreck appetizer which was my husband's favorite he only took a bite of. He said the cheese tasted off. The eggplant dip was very good, but their bean salad was very bland. For the mains, we all had kabobs, and I would say the cut of lamb seemed tougher, although still tasty. The pieces were thinner, and longer, whereas, I believe that they were more like fat cubes in the past when we had gone. The dessert and turkish coffee were supposedly very good. Maybe it was an off night. We did not use a groupon, but we did see many tables with them. Overall, not a bad experience, but not the destination we used to consider it. We have never had the liver pizza, but are intrigued. Please let us know what you think if you decide to give it a go.
