Best fish tacos and cheap oysters?

I'm visiting San Diego for the first time next weekend, I'm staying in the Mission Beach area.

I'm looking for some good fish taco places and good cheap oysters. Do any restaurants offer buck a shuck in the area?

  1. Pacific Beach Fish Shop has $1 oyster night on Thursdays but that doesn't help you out next weekend.

The Green Flash in PB has half-priced oysters on the half shell and Rockefeller on Thursdays in the bar area.

Try Oscar's in PB for fish tacos.

    2. The only "buck a shuck" I've located on Saturdays is Gabardine in Point Loma 4:30-6- bar only.
Friday happy hour might get you close to both a South Beach bar and grill in Ocean Beach- I think oysters are $1.50 and fish taco are at least famous, beer selection is good and there are nice views on the second floor. A great "first time in San Diego" place. (I refer you to the search button for more debate about the quality of the tacos)

      1. Alchemy and Sea Rocket Bistro in North/South Park both do dollar oysters some nights - that's the best I've got.

        1. Oceanaire has $1/oysters during HH, including weekend HH.

          Enjoy your stay.

            And all day on Sundays.

          2. Oscars for fish Taco's, I always say it - they don't have oysters though.

            1. Mariscos German for fish tacos and TJ Oyster Bar for good cheap oysters.

              1. Taco truck in a South Park grocery store parking lot (3030 Grape St) has both fish tacos and oysters (about $8 for a half dozen, I think). A little over a buck each, but pretty enjoyable.
