Lychees and longans

Hi-

I've been dreaming of lychees and longans lately. I'm not sure of their seasonality but work from the assumption they'll be imported from far away. I've checked Diho in Westmont and Mitsuya in Arlington Heights but with no luck.

Does anyone have any recommendations on where to look?

Thanks in advance for the help!

They usually don't appear in the Asian supermarkets until May or June. If I remember correctly, lychees would appear first followed by longans a month or so after.

      Thank you!

Around here, are they widely available in most Asian grocery stores? Or do I need to stick with the bigger stores?

It should be available in stores that specialize in Chinese/Korean/Japanese and the like foods. The smaller stores normally carry them as well, especially in the chinatown areas. In the meantime, you can satisfy your craving with the canned versions.
