Restaurant/Bar in Capital Region to for private party

Lizajane617 Apr 22, 2013 10:27 AM

I'm looking for a restaurant/bar with a private room in the capital region to host a 60th birthday party for about 50 people. I am hoping for an early evening cocktail event with heavy apps and open bar (must have full bar not just beer and wine) Saratoga is out b/c it'll be a Sat in mid August. Any suggestions?

Angelo's 677 Prime has plenty of nice space for private parties; Capriccio has a cool private room upstairs, two good Albany choices. Ristorante Paradiso does most of its business now on private parties, I think; might be an offbeat choice.

While I agree that Capriccio's upstairs room is fun, it would never hold 50 people. It barely holds 12.

Their website says 15-30, but you're right, not 50. Take that off the list.

I can't even imagine 30! Or is there another upstairs room? I was thinking of the one with the big table and the little kitchen. That's the only one I've been in.

I was in a private room there once that seemed spacious for the number of people in the party. But it's a moot point, since the poster is looking for space for 50, as you noted.

Oh, so maybe they do have other rooms up there.

The Century House does a nice job with parties. I think Jack's has a party room but I'm not sure how many people it holds. I've been to nice events at the University Club, too.

century house is a good idea and they have their own parking which might help.
