Reasonably priced anniversary dinner in Santa Monica

My husband and I are doing an anniversary trip from SFO to LA, and our anniversary falls on the day we are in Santa Barbara. We are looking for a special place that won't break the bank, maybe in the $20-25 entree range? We have considered Bouchon, but have been to the other Bouchon locations and want to try something new. Thanks!

My apologies! I meant Santa Barbara! All of these names are running together in my head. Thanks for catching that, @PeterCC.

Slightly confused, when you said "Santa Barbara" in the message, did you mean "Santa Monica" as in the subject?

Obligatory recommendation of FIG at the Fairmont Miramar in SM, where their "FIG at Five" happy hour deal discounts everything on the menu 50% if ordered between 5 PM and 6 PM. They're open for dinner Tue-Sat.

I recommend the chicken liver parfait, the bacon wrapped bacon, Carlsbad mussels, and the braised tongue for smaller dishes. I actually usually just order a few small dishes in lieu of an entree, but my wife likes the organic chicken entree.

Rustic Canyon has great food and should fall within your budget. Try and reserve a booth.
