Dinner/Drinks in East 50's/60s

Looking for idea for dinner and drinks (ideally small/shareable plates) in the East 50s or 60s. Someplace intimate where you can have a conversation, but not stuffy. Open to adventurous ideas/cuisines. Near Lexington Avenue is easiest if possible. Thoughts?

Thanks so much!

  1. Fishtail on 62nd between Park and Lexington. It is in a townhouse and if you eat on the 2nd floor, it is quite quiet. tables spread far apart enough to not overhear your neighbors ,plus it is pretty and the food is good too. sometimes you can find it on the Savored website, so you can get a sizeable discount.

    1. Solera is Spanish tapas and a quieter alternative to the smaller, but livelier Soccarat. You could also try the wine bar at Al Bustan for Lebanese mezze.
