Dinner in Portsmouth

Going to a show at the Portsmouth Music Hall tonight. I would appreciate any suggestions for a casual, mid-priced restaurant.....American, Mediterranean or seafood. I know there are some wonderful high end restaurants for a special night out....but this is just dinner before the show. Still, I would like the food to be good. Thank you for any suggestions.

Had a great meal at the Black Trumpet with a girlfriend a while back. Casual, bistro style atmosphere. Nice wines and cocktails. We shared a couple of the "small plates" to start, then we each had salads and then split a cheese plate. Really nice evening. And it's a short walk to the Music Hall.

For casual fare, the best place for me is the Portsmouth Brewery.

If I want to eat al fresco and another plus is their private, on site parking, is the Oar House.

The food is better at the brewery, but all and all, on a gorgeous night, I like the Oar.
