Italian around Garden City, LI

NicholsVT Apr 20, 2013 07:17 AM

So help me out here...is there a *really* good red sauce place in this part of Nassau County? Old recipes, tablecloths, maybe Jerry Vale is singing? And if not, what's your favorite Italian in the area?

Thanks in advance!

Benny's Ristorante, Steve's Piccola Bussola, Julio Cesare, all in Westbury. In Garden City, a lot of folks like The Lucky Duck and Novita.

If you go to any of the first three, you'll feel like it's, oh, let's say 1963 at the very latest. :-)

Thanks for the suggestions...I think we'll end up trying all three!

I've been to all three. Did not enjoy Julio Cesare, but it does have a loyal following.

I love Benny's (very warm folks there) food and vibe. Steve's is family style, also good, not as warmly welcoming on my single visit for lunch.

just tried Passione, next to red lobster in westbury...we went for lunch and it was excellent.. .really excellent.
i can imagine dinner is pretty active here so i am glad we got to get a good feel with a lunch service. Great Stuffed Artichoke..... excellent pasta, soup, etc..... good service..no complaints
