Why does swordfish not do well in the freezer?

I have great access to fresh, never frozen swordfish and so often would like to buy it and freeze some for later but have read numerous articles that it's not a good fish to freeze. Why is this? Do you ever freeze swordfish?

I BUY frozen swordfish from Trader Joe's, and it's excellent. They probably flash freeze it and then do some kind of Food Saver wrapping on it, so no ice crystals are formed. It is very good,

imho, most fish are not good to freeze because home freezers can't get them cold enough fast enough.

there are commercial freezers that are up to the job.

I buy swordfish steaks at my fish market all the time and freeze them and they're fine, especially for pasta sauce or Sicilian style, with tomatoes, olives, and so forth. I do wrap them carefully in freezer tissue and a nice, tight bag.
