I am very familiar with this place. I use to work at TRW/Northrop in Space Park, and my local pubs are within a few blocks of this. I use to get bagels at Noah's in El Segundo and this place on occasion.

Always enjoyed them, but was just wondering if that's as good as it gets. I use to travel to Long Island, and New Jersey on business and I found many bagel shops I 'remember' as being better. (maybe they really weren't)

How does M B&B compare to Lox of Bagels, and the Bagel Factory?

In my opinion they are the best bagels in the area.

if you are on a bagel quest, although i haven't tried myself, there is a new bagel place opening in westchester called Brooklyn Water Bagel

That's the Larry King joint I believe.

If you do go, please report back.

i actively try to avoid discovering any more good-tasting sources of simple carbs:
especially sources that are in my neighborhood.

My crew and I tried the B.H. location. Once.
My suggestion, don't waste your time!

I had a craving that was satisfied by going to the Bagel Factory in Torrance. The bagel were better than supermarket bagels, but nothing special.

I doubt if I'll get to Westchester, but if I do I'll definitely report.

      2. Believe it or not.. Hole in the wall, Vietnamese owned, Dough Boy Donut and Hot Bagels in Torrance has the best bagels in the South Bay! They also make their own wonderfully whipped cream cheese.

Love that place! Open 24 hours too. And they make a decent banh mi, which is a great surprise from a donut place. But they're Vietnamese, like you said, so they use legit ingredients. Not the best banh mi in the world, but available 24 hours, and you can get a donut for dessert! :)
