Thoughts on some of my choices...

Have been to NOLA several times...looking to do some new places....Root, Sylvain, Boucherie and Mahoneys for our Po'Boy fix...We have reservations for GWFins and may stop in to Emerils for a favorite item or 2....

  1. We were very impressed with a recent dinner at Boucherie. Preparations were wonderful, service was pleasant and attentive, surroundings were comfortable and appealing. Can't wait to return. Would recommend without hesitation.

    1. Just came back and would also recommend Boucherie and (not on your list) SoBou -- a fairly new place on Chartres adjacent to the W Hotel.

      I was not as impressed as I thought I would be by either GW or Root meals, and there is debate a-plenty on the board about both.

          See, your friends talked you out of RioMar and landed you in 2 places that were wanting! Call it Revenge of the Ceviche karma...

            YUP, Sanglier I thought of you.

            As it turns out my friend is really not much of a foodie, so I probably could have talked her into Rio Mar over GW. I thought we would want something a little more old-school and formal for one dinner but the service was not what I was looking for. French 75 bar before GW helped save the evening. [See trip report April 13- 20 for more details.]

            Actually Root was my last November trip & GW this trip AND Rio Mar is high on the list for upcoming November trip. Sanglier, you have every reason to call me on the Ceviche Revenge.

              Yes, liked SOBU....had just a few small plates... What was your highlight at Boucherie?
