Creative Italian

Hi, we are coming to NYC in two weeks and I have been searching forever and booking and canceling reservations. Please help me end this confusion. I first booked Lincoln for lunch, but their lunch menu is not that interesting and their desserts looked so ho-hum. Their dinner menu has more interesting pasta dishes like the one with lobster and their copy of the Marea dish the crab and sea urchin pasta. so I canceled that one. Right now I have Marea for lunch and their lunch menu seems better than Lincoln, but you have to pay $10 more for their lobster and burrata dish.
I am interested in creative first course and pasta dishes. In the past we have been to Babbo, Locando Verde, Maialino (loved their suckling pig pasta) and Scarpetta. I don't want classic pastas because I make them at home all the time.
If you had to pick one of Michael White places which one would you choose?

If I had to pick one Michael White place, it would be Marea. Ai Fiori is pretty good too, but I like Marea better.

If I had to pick one Michael White restaurant, it would be Osteria Moroni -- except it would be precisely because it is LESS "creative" than his other places. I don't think White has the chops to pull off "creative". He's better when he's more traditional.

I think Lincoln is superb, BTW. But I've never had lunch there.

I agree that Osteria Morini is less creative than the others. But I also choose to eat there most often, because the food is delicious. Al Fiori I think is the most "creative"
I find the Japanese inspired restaurants that serve pasta to be creative, like Greenwich Grill and Basta Pasta

Thank you everyone. For now I stick with Marea, unless I find something better and I hope Marea is worth it. I still have two weeks to drive myself crazy looking at all the menus over and over again.
