Top of Page/Back to where you were halfway down

I currently cannot replicate this, so I'm just going bonkers.

SOMETIMES, when I click a thread wa-aa-aa-aa-ay down a Topic page, and then use the "BACK TO" arrow at the bottom of the thread page, I am returned to the point on the Topic where I was--wa-aa-aa-aa-ay down the Topic page.

SOMETIMES, when I click a thread wa-aa-aa-aa-ay down a Topic, and then use the "BACK TO" arrow at the bottom of the thread page, I am returned to the top of the Topic and I have to scroll back to where I was--wa-aa-aa-aa-ay down the Topic page.

What am ~I~ doing incorrectly?

Or is this a CH hiccough?

I'm not sure offhand what might be causing this- it almost sounds like the "To the Top" link that appears to the right of our "Back to (BOARD)" links is getting triggered. I don't suppose that this is on a touchscreen or something else with finicky input methods?

Win8 [which I dislike STRONGLY] on a regular laptop without a touchscreen.

There was a Win8 update about a week ago, with "vaguely" corresponds to my notice of the loss of "back to the place on the Topic Page."

I also used Chrome and an add-on called "Scroll To The Top;" but I've had that installed since I started using Chrome years ago.

BTW-- I'm SO GLAD you understood the way I phrased my dilemma. Reading back through it, it’s pretty confusing...

        Hi Kris in Beijing.

We're unable to reproduce this on our end, and because of that (and the fact that it's an intermittent rather than consistent issue) it's difficult to pinpoint the source of the problem, but we'll continue to monitor. Thanks for your report.
