Anyone miss Chin Ma Ya of Tokyo?

livemyjourney Apr 16, 2013 05:11 PM

I miss their Tan Tan Mein with Karage chicken on top SO much! Was one of my favorite Ramen places here.

Any news of rumors of them opening up again?

Not intending to snark, but I have lived in Tokyo since 1977 have never heard of Chin Ma Ya. Years ago, there was a nice Chinese restaurant run by a Nancy Ma, though.

Haha... That's just their name. I don't think they really are from Tokyo.

Update: Just found this... I guess they are from Japan :) http://myemail.constantcontact.com/Fa...

I go to japan every year for vacation and I've also never seen them there.. then again they may go by a different name or have different signage.

Yes, they sure do. Thank you, Pixelcat, for showing us the link.
Actually, I think I have seen some of these shops, but here in Japan they really don't stand out much.

probably have seen them or walked by, but without english signage or unique menus it would look just like all of the other bazillion shops i pass by everywhere. Then again i just read the name in chinese and it makes much more sense, wonder if i'll start seeing them around now

gyu-kaku for example, had very similar signage so it was easy to spot.

For tantanmien, I'd recommend Ramen Yukino-ya in Arcadia, it's pretty good imo.
