Oyster Po Boy in LA

These newfangled, pretentious po boys have left me non-plussed.

So in the absence of the Creole Chef, New Orleans Grille, and the long-time, old line stalwarts of Harold & Belle's and Uncle Darrow's, where would you go ?

Does the sole remaining location of Stevie's on the Strip in Encinco which has be rechristened as Stevie's Creole Cafe deliver the fucking goods ?

Thanks.

  1. If you ask me, you answered your own question...
    Harold & Belles

    1. The Gumbo Pot in the Original Farmers Market (Fairfax at Third) makes a delicious fried oyster PoBoy. It's the only authentic one I've had in LA.

      1. New Orleans Cajun Cafe in Hermosa Beach has Fried Oyster Po Boys both hard or flash fried.

I think that's what he means by "New Orleans Grille"..... But I could be mistaken.

        2. Various Farmer's Markets around town generally have some vendor with Po Boys. FWIW, Stevie's Creole Cafe is owned or partly owned by Bobby Brown.
