"A couple fish tacos apre-thai costco?!?!?!"

I've read this 4 times now and I have no idea what you're trying to say.

LAX-C Market is at the same address.

    2. Oh, maybe that's why I thought it was a brick and mortar.

      My bad.

      Thanks for the heads up.

Hopefully he's actually there during those particular hours. He seemed to have been quite erratic in years past, when he was known to hang around Sunset and Virgil (?)

Always check Ricky's Twitter account before you go. That usually seems to be correct.

          Thanks I'll do just that.

I want to see how it compares to the trifecta of TBE, TBFTIE, and TPC.

Ricky's is my favorite. Stick with his classic fish taco and not the shrimp or lobster.

Great recommendation! Definitely need to give it a try!

Agreed. I love the fish taco but found the shrimp and lobster disappointing. I don't think either of the latter two hold up well to deep frying and end up kind of tasteless and rubbery.

I like the shrimp a lot and so do a lot of my friends. Totally agreed on the lobster though; it's a giant taco and there's value, but it's still 7 or 9 bucks or w/e and not nearly as good as the fish/shrimp.

BTW ricky's special is a fish AND shrimp taco.

                  1. re: ns1

Hmmm.... maybe I'll just have to re-try the Ricky's special.

Yes! That's a very good point about the size of the taco for the lobster. It's relatively cheap, given the quantity, but, on top of the rubbery texture, it's also large and unwieldy to eat....

RFT > all those by a mile, except TBE has those delicious salted grilled peppers, and TBFTIE has that delicious radish relish.

Great! Hope he comes to the Westside!

And my rip off of "Carnac the Magnificent" (channeling my inner Johnny Carson) has me holding up a sealed envelope in front of my Costco turban and to the question "What is a sure bet" the answer that comes to me is:

"Death" "Taxes" and "Someone posting that Ricky's was better when he had an illegitimate cart with the rainbow umbrella posted outside the laundromat."

Not saying anything about better, just saying I miss it :)
