Any late-night or 24-hr pho restaurants in Van/Bby/Richmond ?

Spinning off of discussion on late-nite/early-morning Fritou fried chicken at Duffin's Donuts ......

Got me thinking. If/when I'm out and about btwn 10pm-midnight, often times I crave a big hot bowl of pho. And while I'm sure there are some Viet restos that are open > 10pm, to be honest I'm quite reluctant to check them out without prior knowledge or recommendations. The only place I know, and feel comfortable going to, is Pho Long (nee Pho Van) on Fraser @ 18th.

  1. None of the 24-hr pho joints that I know about are worth the time.

    1. Agreed, most 24-hr pho joints are pretty sketchy in terms of both food and ambience. One place that you might want to try is Mui Ngo Gai (open till midnight). I usually get the Bún Bò Huế which pretty good albeit a little on the mild side. Can anyone else out there comment on their pho?

Agree on MNG's pho, a bit underwhelming, but I'd go there late at night without a qualm.

So no late-nite pho out there worth dyin' for, eh ? [groan. sorry]

Thanks for the tip Scoffier. Just streetviewed MNG, that's the old Double Double restaurant space (wow The Tipper is still around ....).

And I used to go there when it was a Mexican restaurant before it became the Double Double (and the Tipper was the old E&B Grill). Boy, I'm starting to feel kind of ancient now LOL!

      2. anyone been to the new-ish place at Broadway & Cambie?
