Ate here on Friday night and everything was great. Spicy crispy cucumbers, dan dan noodles, steamed dumplings, fried dumplings, won ton soup for appetizers. Entrees were dry hot pot which is served in a mini wok with your choice of meat, pork lo mein, and garlic sauce style, also served with your choice of meat. Our server Jason could not have been nicer and we were not rushed. The only problem was our car got towed.
Even though we cant wait to go back.
I'm sure you already know this by now, but avoid parking on the 100 block of Chestnut in particular when visiting Han Dynasty or other Old City restaurants. Parking is allowed up to a certain time of the evening, but after that (and probably while you are enjoying your meal), it becomes a tow zone!
I took Amtrak last time I visited, which is a great strategy for avoiding those pesky parking issues.
Place was packed on a Saturday, and I was lucky to get a spot at the teeny bar.
Had the twice-cooked fish, and even though it only rated a 4/10 on the heat scale, it was almost more than I could take. But I ate every last bit. I will go back, again hopefully sans auto.
Thanks for the review. I have been to Han Dynasty in Old City (not the other ones). I am sorry that your car got towed. If you like Szechuan cuisine, then also recommend trying either Four Rivers or E Mei in Chinatown. I find both of them to be good.
