Converting banana bread into banana muffins ... what do I need to change?

I have a banana bread recipe that I'd like to change into muffins for easier portability in lunchboxes. It is supposed to be baked in a loaf tin for 1 hour 5 minutes (kind of weird timing) at 350 degrees. Anyone know an easy conversion for this kind of thing? Thanks very much in advance for any help you can give me.

  1. Well, all it took was a quick look on this site (which, obviously, I should have done first) to find the answer:

hoping that someday this is helpful to someone else!

I mentioned the bake time of 1 hour 5 minutes for the bread in my OP.

i was responding to "what do i need to change?"

and my answer is bake time. and that's it. ;o)

so sorry! really wasn't intending to be cute.....

      2. recipe can remain the same, I would cut the baking time in half maybe a little more... I'd check at 20-25 minutes with a toothpick.

        1. Ended up taking about 20 minutes for very full muffin tins (more like 15 for the leftover, smaller batch to cook). They're great - it worked out just swell.

          1. Nothing except the cooking time. Mufins have a larger surface area so they cook in about half the time of a cake. Check them after 20 minutes and bake longer if they're not done.
