Venue for a 35 person party?

esseb Apr 12, 2013 01:47 PM

I am looking for a venue to have my parents' surprise 40th wedding anniversary. We expect about 35 people to attend. The space should facilitate mingling--I don't want everyone to just sit down and eat. I'm also looking for somewhere that is reasonably priced. Any ideas? Thank you!

Anywhere in Boston or Cambridge. I'd like to keep it to $100 per person. Is that unreasonable?

Based on my wedding experiences its going to cost more than 100 for a hotel.

The Commonwealth hotel, probably various other hotels could do a good job. Also good for accessibility for older folks.

I would look into Les Zygomates. They have several rooms with movable partitions that can be configured to accomodate various party types. More of a "mingly" place, IMO. Not sure about the $100/pp if you are including liquor.

you can easily do les zyg for under $100 pp.

might want to look into davio's also. the space that faces arlington st. is nice for a group this size and you can talk with their planner about how to arrange tables and seating.

could also make arrangements for that front space at upstairs on the square.
