Conversion of dried oregano vs fresh

So, I'm making chicken meatballs TONIGHT, and realized I don't have any dried oregano. I do have fresh, or I have dried italian seasoning. If I were to use the fresh, how much should I use? Or should I just use the italian seasoning?

  1. Never mind. Ended up throwing in the italian seasoning and hoping for the best :)

    1. Sorry to reply after the fact. For future reference, the rule of thumb is three tsp fresh to one tsp dried oregano.

      I'm sure the Italian seasoning made for a good substitute as well. I use it a lot and I really Iike the blend of herbs.
