Muracci's Japanese Curry & Grill in Los Altos

  • 1

I searched for this place and got two pages of hits...most of which turned out to be because it's listed in Melanie's personal ramen ranking :) So I think it's okay to start a new thread.

Lunch outing with folks from work. Good thing we reserved a table, because at noon it was absolutely rammed. The area at the back by the kitchen was constantly packed with people waiting for tables or takeout.

Three small plates of tsukemono were included with lunch: red daikon, cabbage and cucumber.

We ordered six curries -- two chicken katsu, two salmon, two veggie -- and one chicken katsu with salad. My chicken came with a good sized cutlet, a veritable lake of curry, a small mountain of brown rice and a boiled egg (optional extra). Cutlet itself was pretty standard fare, but the curry sauce was top notch, much better than Curry House in Tino. Medium spiciness had a nice kick (one of us nearly ordered extra spicy by mistake!). Next time I will add a side of veggies.

Service was prompt considering how busy they were.

There were still people waiting outside when we left.

  1. It seems to be less busy there at lunch earlier in the week. I took my son there for lunch on Tuesday and it never got packed. Then again, I find that true of many restaurants.

Andrew had the pork katsu curry (medium) and I had the omelet curry (also medium) both with brown rice. Plenty enough for both of us to leave the place satiated and contented.
