Is Txikito ok for a solo diner?

grandgourmand Apr 10, 2013 06:03 AM

this place was on my list last time I went to NYC, but didn't end up going there. This time I'm alone and wondering if a tapas place is ok for solo dining. Any thoughts?

Alternative suggestions welcome. I'm staying on Madison & 32nd. Arriving later tonight so will just get some Korean food nearby. tomorrow night is when I have more time.

It certainly is. It has a nice little bar and on warm days, as we as we having this week, they open up the full windows along 9th avenue so it is almost like dining al fresco. There are plenty of two-=tops as well where you'll be comfortable.

Honestly, NYC doesn't bat any eye to the lone diner. Whether at the bar or a table, they are welcome.

Thegforceny is 100% correct. I eat solo often. Never an issue

Thank you for the "encouragement". Turns out there were a couple other solo diners.

I only had three dishes the boqueron (probably my favourite) the octopus carpaccio (possible best octopus i've ever had) and the squid slivers. the last one was just ok. I think mainly because i was getting stuffed at that point.

I defy you to go anywhere in Manhattan and Brownstone Brooklyn where there aren't at least a few solo diners.
