Bakery style happy face cookies?

Miri1 Apr 9, 2013 11:14 PM

Searching for a while now, for the recipe to those large, crumbly yellow-ish cookies with a chocolate happy face (or dollop of fudge) on them, popular in many kosher bakeries. I suspect crisco plays a role is the recipe. Anyone knw the cookies and have a recipe?

I know the cookie, but no recipes. I'd love to figure it out also!

Butter would be great, I'm sure, but I have. Feeling the flavor would be different. And as for Black and whire cookies, they are totally different. Mire crumbky, whereas BW's are mire cake-like.

Aren't they the same as black-and-white cookies, but decorated differently? I don't particularly enjoy black-and-white cookies, so I've never tried to bake my own, but there are many recipes out there for them.

Unless they must be parve, I would use butter.

I have not made these, but this thread contains a recipe that might be what you're looking for.
