Now available for CH lunch ventures ... ME! [please?]

How can I weasel myself into some of the oft-mentioned CH lunch restaurant adventuring?

Note-- my "20% availability" does mean that the expense account would not be accessible, but I'm game for anything [game, or fish, or veg or spin the globe and plunk down a finger for the cuisine...or...Or... OR!!!] except probably a wine bar, as I don't imbibe.

    I've been organizing Chowhound meals for about a decade. I have a list of about 40 Chowhounds, though I'm sure I've met at least 60 over the years. It's slowed down recently, but more because I'm looking for inspiration.

    You can send me a PM. If you have any ideas of where you'd like to eat and when, I'll send it out. My list is no secret, everyone receives everyone else's e-mail address.

    Of course, there is no magic to doing this, just come up with a place, time and announce it on Chowhound, keeping the subsequent messaging off line, of course.

      From the "outsider" perspective, the CH Meet'n'Eats seem to be really well organized so I thought it might be a semi-closed group.

      I want to hit Grace Garden this Saturday, April 13, for a late lunch at 1P. I'll probably call tomorrow (April 11) night and ask for certain dishes so that they can be prepared ahead of time. Please email me (found on my profile) if you're interested and if there is a specific dish you'd like to try.

        CH seems to rave about Grace Garden... is it worth a 50mi drive each way?
        Not to be a Frown-Hound, but even for phenomenal food, I don't want to devote 4 hours of my first summer Saturday if it's a 35-seat hole in the wall.

        So, MK, convince me : )

            It is a hole-in-the wall.

            There are some pretty terrific things on the regular menu. With the potential of ordering specials in advance it becomes a rare experience with a group.

          Kris, you can also check out DonRockwell.com, another local food forum, that has occasional $20 Tuesdays, & other meetups at local restaurants, the spring picnic this year will be May 5th at Ft. Hunt Park, which is close to Woodbridge-we love to meet new folks....
