Santa Ana - Lunch Options (near Discovery Science Center)

Any recommendations for lunch near the Discovery Science Center in Santa Ana? Walking distance preferred. And it needs to be kid-friendly as we'll have 2 sets of toddler twins (FOUR 1.5 years old) with us. Thanks in advance!

Bummer x2 (doesn't meet 2 of my criteria) but the menu looks awesome. May need to try some other time.

I should also mention we'll need alcohol too. Don't judge, you would too if you were dining with 2 sets of toddler twins ;)

Does that mean you are going to be there on a Sunday? I wasn't sure since it didn't meet one of your criteria (walking distance) but you never said what day you were going.

Yes, I should have mentioned we are going on Sunday (for the Bubblefest). Thx again for the suggestion!

Okay. Walkable and open on Sundays www.pollyspies.com and toddler friendly. I don't think I can do better than this... ;-D>

THANK YOU! This looks like it will work for us. Love the kitschy-feel of the website (I know it's a chain, but I haven't heard of/been to before). It looks like another option may be CPK.

Thanks again Servorg - you also helped me with my Passover meal :)

What goes around comes around (and I look forward to reading how it works out).

Hollingshead!!! May not be the best with little kids though as room is tight is it is pretty much a beer haven. But if you love craft beer...just a thought.

Polly's is literally right across the parking lot though and may suit you better.

Hollingshead's is great. I go there way too often. But their prices are seriously and I mean seriously overpriced.

No other beer bar in town or even out of town is this pricey, and that's in regards to the taps.

Yet, I'm here more than I should be.

Think Marie Callendars. Pollie's Pies was opened by a former employee something like thirty-five years ago.

So, it's been serving good enough reliable plain American food to survive the decline and resurrection-restoration-hipsterization of downtown Santa Ana.

          Just wanted to report back...

We ended up not having lunch down there as the kids were all exhausted after snacks and we left around lunchtime (got there early around 9:30). But I did get a membership so we'll be back and I'm sure will use these lunch suggestions in the future. Thanks again for all the recommendations!
