sunday night help for 6 people
Ok, so it's Patriots Day weekend and I'm guessing Sunday night will be like a Saturday, and I've got 6 people I need to plan a nice night out for. One really likes hot, trendy places with good food and a "scene" --I could care less about scene or trendy, but I'm trying to find something he likes. I thought I had the answer --Cinquecento --had a great meal there recently, I'm sure it'll be hopping, it's in the south end, etc. Then I remembered we have two older parents with us (in their 70s, one hard of hearing) and that the noise level there is pretty deafening. I think they will be miserable there. So...then I was thinking Boston Chops --since it's relatively new I'm guessing the "scene" quotient will be okay --food seems to be getting okay reviews. No clue on the noise level though?? ICOB could fit the bill but I am pretty sure they are booked. Same with Hungry Mother. So....since time is running out I appeal to my fellow hounds. Any thoughts? I do think it might help that we have 6 people and therefore can make a reservation, but I'm not coming up with many other ideas. I'm also considering Guilana (sp?) though I think ideally we'd be right in the city vs Cambridge or outlying areas.
Any thoughts/help/ideas appreciated, TIA!
Thanks for thoughts. I agree Hungry Mother is not a scene --I am thinking we may have to forgo scene for good food and actual conversation. But maybe that's not the case....
Thanks for the suggestion, but I have been underwhelmed by the food the couple times I've been to Eastern Standard. Maybe calling Island Creek is worth a shot.
When I think "scene", Hungry Mother doesn't come to mind, but that's besides the point. I was underwhelmed on my first visit to Giulia last Friday (also the median age trended towards people accepting Social Security). Did you try calling Island Creek? The race is cleared by the time Sunday night rolls around so it shouldn't be to bad in that neighborhood.
