HELP!!! Tex-Mex or Mexican in Odessa, TX???????

I have been to Odessa Tx. six times. Every time I go there I look for a good little mexican or tex-mex place. A taco stand would be fine. But, all I end up with is orange cheese melted all over something. This can't be. Once I even drove into New Mexico, but I couldn't find any towns, let alone places to eat. Even Midland would be OK. Any leads? Thanks. I will be there in October.

    1. I grew up in Midland, and we used to always go to the Monterey Kitchen which was wonderful. It started out as a bit of a hole-in-the-wall downtown on S. Florida St., but as it got more and more popular, moved to (comparatively) fancy new digs on N. Big Spring St. Hope it's still there as it is definitely worth the drive from Odessa if it is!

        1. i'v lived in odessa all my life. one thing i know is mexican food...here at least. my personal favorite is Mi Casa, on 8th street. the food is wonderful and authentic. another good restaraunt is La Esperanza's. hope you enjoy...

            1. on the south side there is this place called melodys its on climets and its reall good

                1. In my opinion, the Chile Relleno at La Bodega in Midland is one of the very best Mexican dishes in the entire state. It's interior Mexico style - stuffed with picadillo. Fabulous.

I drive miles out of my way to go to this place.

I'd do it three times a week if I were in Odessa.
