Houston - best Thai curry

LazyMF Sep 2, 2001 11:31 AM

Who has the best in town? My vote goes to the red curry at Golden Room and/or Thai Racha (either location). The owners are related and shared the recipe. Can't beat the price at Thai Racha. Any suggestions out there for the hard-to-find Thai places?

It's been 6 years since I left Houston. There used to be a little Thai place near the U of Houston, University Park(Calhoun/Cullen)that had very authentic, very spicy curry dishes. If that's not the Golden Room, then the search continues...I'm sorry I can't remember the name of this place.

I think that's Kanomwan on Telephone Rd.

Kanomwah! That's it! Thanks. Now I can sleep.

I second the recommendation for Kanomwan. Best in town. Golden Room and Thai Cottage (and Thai Cottage II, in Sugar Land) are also excellent.

Are you talking about Thai Cottage in Bellaire, near Rice Ave.? They do have good vegetable red curry. I've never tried it at Kanomwan - I always eat the chili chicken dish or tom yum gai.
