I am looking for a General Tso's chicken recipe. I have tried many of them, but cannot find one that tastes like in the restaurant! I have tried so many, I think that my husband and kids are going to give up on me! Can someone help?

As many Chinese-American restaurants as there are in the US that's probably how many versions there are. Here's one that may satisfy your family.

It's important, IMO, that you use the Chinese ingredients required for any recipe you cook. The Shaozing wine is Chinese cooking wine and the Chinese rice vinegar is Chinkiang Vinegar (AKA black rice vinegar.)

One recipe my family and I really like is a recipe by Fuchsia Dunlop, an authority on Sichuan cookery.

i tried one this weekend from ATK's lightened up comfort food recipe, and it really came close.

Perhaps this "take-out" version will work. With photos.

Diana Kuan has a great blog too, Scoop. Good choice!
