I-Wonton On Irving [San Francisco]

Chandavkl Apr 6, 2013 10:58 AM

Soupçon just sent out a tweet. Anybody been there? Can't figure it out--mixture of dumplings, pancakes, crab rangoon and General Tso's Chicken.

menu has just 2 skewer offerings, 2 wonton offerings, 5ish pancakes. the rest generic mandarin entrees, noodles, and dumplings.

      won ton soup(5.95)
-12ish small pieces, doughy, mushy, some semiraw, mostly pork in a heavy msg/veggie broth.

threw broth away, should have chucked wontons too.

little beijing poster still on front wall.

Jeez, with this wonton report and your earlier one for Yin Du Wonton, one has to wonder why these places name themselves after what should be their best dish.

seems the naming of the eatery is just to distinguish themself from the crowd. nothing more.

prices seem reasonable but quality is lacking.
