Facing Heaven Chilis

ElsieB Apr 5, 2013 01:58 PM

Having a hard time finding a source for these chilis. I thought there was a link for an online source but I have searched my best thru the Every Grain of Rice threads and can't find what I thought I remembered seeing. I have tried every chinese market in Ct (almost:) and searched online. I had not realized the difficulty of finding these chilis. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

I've never been able to find them in stores. You can order them here:

Huh, I just read the new description and it says "we will ship fat or thin version without distinguishing". You want the "fat version".

Thank you Emily. Yours was the post I remembered but couldn't re-find it in those long threads. I just sent an email to ask if I can order the fat ones. I'll get back here if and when I get an answer and an order! I can't believe how hard they are to get a hold of!!!

Thanks, think I will wait to see if the other source below works
out since it is in the US. If not, this will be my next try. I have a friend in CA also on the hunt for me.

This source comes to about $100 lb. with shipping to me in CA...

Posharpstore emailed me that the fat facing heaven chiles are out of stock. He claims the thin ones are also facing heaven and that he's Sichuanese and they work for him. I think he sent me some free bags in my last order of the thin, which I will try.

If you find yourself in NYC/Chinatown, Hong Kong Supermarkets carries them.
