ISO of fresh raw turmeric root in Toronto, preferably downtown

Hello fellow chowhounders,
I am asking a favour please.
I am looking for fresh raw turmeric root. For healing skin and for eating in smoothies.
It's amazing in powder form but messy for skin (I used it to heal a very infected skin abscess and my daughter's plantar wart). Fresh root would be easier to apply to skin and I hear it is tastier to consume.

thanks very much, I know someone out there knows where to find it fresh.
Close to a subway would be amazing.
thanks so much
Idas

They almost always have it at the Big Carrot and it is organic. Likely better from a healthcare perspective.

I have bought it in chinatown supermarkets before. Specifically, the one just north east of the spadina dundas intersection. It was not labelled correctly so you should know what it looks like!

I saw it at BJ Supermarket at Coxwell & Gerrard some months back, but I wouldn't be surprised if they generally have it.

I've seen it at T&T on Cherry Street and Sunny Foodmart on Don Mills in the past.
