Penn Quarter bars for a group of 10?

I'm throwing an anniversary celebration for a friend, and we need a spot for pre-dinner cocktails that will be sedate and atmospheric at 6pm on a Friday night. A tall order, I know. Any ideas? Ideally I could reserve a roped off table or section. Thanks!

Thanks, why do you recommend it?

Probably because it's about as sedate as you're going to get on a Friday night at 6 in Penn Quarter. Pretty much everywhere else, you're going to slowly go deaf while being suffocated.

Are the service and cocktail program good? Thanks!

Sedate on a Friday during HH that's a tall order

I would head to Poste. If it's nice enough out you can sit in the courtyard, which is lovely. Otherwise there is back bar or even the lobby.

5pm on friday is not sedate. Nevertheless the bar at legal seafood might be a good match for you
