Atomic (brand) horseradish.

Has anyone seen Atomic brand horseradish for sale in Dallas?

Sprouts used to sell it but I haven't seen it for sale there for a while.

  1. I will look at the Sprouts in the burbs (Flower Mound and Coppell). They might still have it on their shelves

I will also try out the Market Street in Coppell and the Tom Thumb in Flower Mound. Both of those seem to be well stocked on codiments.

Please tell me you are using it for this:

Hi, LH. I love Russ & Daughters smoked fish but no, I just like to keep it in the fridge to use when I make something that calls for strong horseradish.

Like, a cocktail sauce for shrimp or, as a condiment for roast beef. Or even just to add to mustard for some extra zip.

I'll double check again with the Sprouts at Campbell and Coit.

      Thanks!

Crazy timing, I just got my Russ & Daughters delivery (I tend to order something every year or two) last week. Hands down best lox in the world. Also, I have no idea where else to find belly lox.

Their smoked fish has to be the best in the entire world! Sure not cheap, though.

      2. I bought some today at Sprouts, Coit and Campbell. Whew! It is some strong stuff! Thank you.

        1. They carry it at the Soutlake sprouts, too. I bought some last month. It's really good stuff, reminds me of when my baba would grind fresh horseradish in the kitchen. You needed a gas mask to survive the burn, but the old battle axe never seemed to need one.

Yeah, it's definitely like the horseradish from the good old days! S-T-R-O-N-G!

It will put hair on your chest, that's for sure! I sampled the atomic out in Vegas 6 years ago at some of the steakhouses and was instantly addicted, I was thrilled to find it at Sprouts.

Japanese Wasabi is a pussycat compared to Atomic horseradish. Aptly named, eh?

                1. re: twinwillow

While I love both, yes, wasabi just doesn't manhandle your sinuses like Atomic will.

Now I'm getting a craving for horseradish and beets, kasha and a fatty smoked sausage

I'm more of a kovbasa person, although flanken sounds great and I should see if my 2nd Ave Deli cookbook as a recipe for it.

          2. The Sprouts on Henderson is now stocking Atomic as well, now.
