Restaurant Near South Station Teenagers in Tow

dtermine Apr 3, 2013 06:37 PM

I am looking for a fun restaurant near South Station to bring 3 teenage girls. One is coming in from out of town.

Should have thought of this. Blue Dragon is a great idea.

          Walking distance 5-10 minute walk.

the only thing within 5 minutes of south station is its own food court.

trade and les zyg are your closest options then.

Les Zyg, sorriso, O Ya, Radius, Kingston Station, Smith and Wollensky, and Trade all less than or just at a 5 minute walk.

Thanks. Have you ever been to Giacomo's?

Anything on Beach Street in C-town is within a 5-10 minute walk. I do it all the time and am not a particularly fast walker.

Les Zygomates could be fun, especially if it's a night they have a band.

Or if they'd prefer Italian to French, Les Zyg's brother Sorriso is right next door.

Food at Sorriso is meh at best. great beer list though.

Within half a mile (a ten minute walk for most people), and with a presumably not terribly adventurous teen crowd, I'd suggest Trade, Sorriso, Flour, and Papagayo.

I work in the area and think that Papgayo and Les Zyg are your two best bets. Both are lively, have decent menus, and neither is too long a walk. Blue Dragon is great, but often crowded. If it's before 4pm, Channel Cafe is funky and has nice soups & sandwiches. I still haven't been to Tavern Road yet, so can't comment. Let us know where you end up!

                    Channel Cafe is no more.

wow - I hadn't heard! I was there about a month ago. It was a great independent place - I'll miss it.

Per Grub Street Boston, "[Channel Cafe o]wner Joyce Parlapiano tells us that she and business partner/chef Tammy Watson will reopen on Newtonville's Washington Street with a 'more elaborate' restaurant called Verrine."

radius burgers are always my idea of a fun time!

Radius probably not the best atmosphere for teenage girls.

That is not remotely close to South Station. More like a 25 minute walk.

Ended up at Sorisso. Service was a bit slow but the teenagers really liked the pizza. Thanks for the suggestions!
