Boston Marathon ticketed parties?

Does anyone have a suggestion where a group of friends and I can gather to celebrate our friends running? We'd like a bar/restaurant near the finish line that is selling tickets to limit overcrowding.

Me neither - I worked across from the Pru for 15 years, and worked every Marathon Day. In my experience overcrowding was the order of the day and no bars or restaurants were interested in limiting that.

There are a few. AJ Williams of Creative Events hosts a rooftop party at the Lenox Hotel. Abe and Louie's has one. The Ally Foundation has one. I will take a look for announcements and report back.

abe & louis is closed as a private event. it's not selling tickets.

You are right - it is a private affair - but one can get on the guest list if one desires. Jeff Davis at Herb Chambers is the organizer.

The only way I've seen bars limit "overcrowding" on Marathon Day is by having lines when they get over capacity. You can count on anywhere near Copley to be crowded.
